Hello Abha.
I have to express how I feel about being a Baha’i and being an active member of the community. I am simply bored and bored with Baha’i life. What should be a spiritual sanctuary increasingly looks like another profession or academic discipline.
Everything in the Bahá’í Faith seems to revolve around reading activities: read this, read that letter, read another spiritual book—always following the same formula of reading and discussion. Honestly, I’d rather be doing something else than constantly attending study sessions. To make matters worse, I am a member of a Local Spiritual Assembly (LSA), involved with the ISGP, and have also served on a regional council. Sometimes, it honestly feels like we’re running a company instead of serving a religious community.
Sometimes I wish I could go to church, listen to the priest or pastor, go home and simply live my life. But the Bahá’í service seems to be focused almost entirely on expansion and consolidation in spiritual study courses, and I can’t stand it anymore. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve studied the nine-year plan and feel like the Bahá’í Faith is taking over my life. It is not enough to spend the whole week working and studying. After that come the weekends and there are even more study sessions and study materials.
Even now I feel trapped by my responsibilities in LSA and ISGP. There seems to be no way out because, because of me "fame" In society, I will probably always be chosen or invited to serve in these institutions.
I was born into a Baha’i family, so I have a deep connection to its history and teachings. But today, it all looks more like a movement focused on study and education than a religion in the spiritual sense.
